About Amber

I’ve lived many lives in this one body.

I was born into a story shaped by complexity—loved by a parent battling addiction, raised in the ache of divorce, and learning early what it meant to navigate belonging in fractured spaces. Grief has walked beside me in many forms: the loss of parents, grandparents, family to suicide, and seasons of separation from my own children. I have mothered as a single parent, opened my home through foster and adoption, and advocated fiercely as a parent of children with medical complexities.

My path has woven through religious extremism and spiritual awakening. I once served on church boards and ministries, living within the structure of a faith that eventually broke me open. What followed was a long, tender unraveling—deconstructing what I’d been taught so I could find what was true. That unraveling, painful as it was, became the beginning of my awakening.

As a pediatric nurse—cradling tiny lives and steadying the hearts of their parents—and through the sacred work of hospice, where I sat beside the dying and bore witness to the thin veil between here and beyond. Alongside my own encounters with chronic illness, cancer scares, and the tender work of healing from self-harm, these seasons shaped me. They taught me what no textbook ever could: that true care is never just clinical. It is presence. It is reverence. It is the courage to see ourselves and others fully.

And yet, I also believe healing is not only born from pain. It lives in laughter, in play, in the childlike curiosity we too often lose as adults. Movement should feel like joy, not duty; kickball, tag, and dance! To heal is to remember—not only what hurt us, but also what delighted us and build on that.

My work is rooted in many influences such as: Internal Family Systems, the trauma wisdom of Gabor Maté, Toltec teachings, and the mythic call of Women Who Run With the Wolves. I also hold space for psychedelic preparation and integration, knowing that when tended with care, these journeys can open us to deep self-discovery and healing.

Through Rooted in Care, I bring together clinical knowledge, spiritual practice, and soul-level listening. I am a deeply feeling, highly attuned human—a listener, a guide, a space holder. Through genuine care, energy work, coaching, and connection, I help others return to their own wild knowing, to the wisdom that was never lost—only buried. Because healing, to me, is never about becoming someone new. It is about remembering who we’ve been all along.
